Happy 50th Birthday Greg Vaughn!!!
Vaughn, who the Brewers selected fourth overall in the 1986 draft, finished his Brewer career with a .246/.333/.459 batting line, 169 home runs, and 566 RBIs in 903 games over eight seasons. He was one of the very few bright spots for the Brewers during the early 90’s.
In 1996, the Brewers dealt Vaughn to the Padres for pitchers Bryce Florie and Ron Villone and outfielder Marc Newfield. Yeah, that deal didn’t pan out of course.
Cheers to Vaughny on turning 50…I officially feel old.
